Welcome to my home page. I am Hyun-Wook Jin (You can just call me JIN though this is my last name).

I am a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Konkuk University, Seoul, Korea. I am leading the System Software Research Laboratory (SSLab) at Konkuk University. Our main research focus is on the design of operating systems for high-end computing systems and real-time embedded systems. I am also supervising the undergraduate Linux study group called Banbaji (meaning short pants). The group won the grand (2007), gold (2008 and 2009), and participation (2011) prizes from the Embedded Software Contest. I am a member of IEEE and a life memeber of KIISE (Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers) and KIPS (Korea Information Processing Society).

Before joining Konkuk University in 2006, I was a Research Associate in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Ohio State University. There I worked in Network-Based Computing Laboratory headed by Prof. D. K. Panda for two and half years. I earned my Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. degrees from Korea University (2003, 1999, and 1997). While in graduate school, I was a Research Assistant in the Operating Systems Laboratory headed by Prof. C. Yoo.
